Google - online gambling market

Rumours have been heard that Google could be bidding for an online gambling group. In the newspapers, the rumours is that Google are looking to acquire Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment and the result was the share price rising as soon the news was published.

Though this information was not confirmed, Google could be trying to acquire Bwin.Party group before November this year, which is the month expected to start running legal online gambling operations in New Jersey.

Bwin.Party is one of the groups waiting for a license to operate online gambling in New Jersey through a partnership with Boyd Gaming and MGM Resorts under the Borgata and Party Poker brands.

The interesting side of this history is that Google was one of the first search engines to ban online gambling advertisements, and now (many years after this decision) should be interested in a share of this multi billionaire industry.
