Here is the very first Game & Watch game released by Nintendo. I`m talking about BALL. The gameplay is very simple and you will only need the juggler`s arms to Left or Right to catch the balls.
Different than other Game&Watch games like
Donkey Kong Jr, on BALL, you only have one chance. The game will end in your first miss. So, be careful and use all your technique and timing to keep the balls on the air.
Donkey Kong 2 review
Nintendo Game & Watch BALL was released in April 28th, 1980 and sold less than 250,00 copies worldwide. For some reason, this game was not a good seller for Nintendo. The game is part of the Silver Series which also includes Flagman, Fire, Judge, and Vermin.
The characteristics of the Silver Series of Nintendo Game & Watch was the small screen and the silver metallic area with the buttons.
Today, this game is part of collectors worldwide. I`ve got my copy when Nintendo released the game for members of Nintendo club. I was lucky enough to buy in an online auction for a very fair price. The game was boxed - totally new.
In terms of gameplay, you will see that Ball is very easy. It is also a good exercise to test your speed reaction.
Gameplay
You can select Game A or Game B. The difference between them: Playing with Game A, the Juggler will have to catch 2 Balls. Every catch will give you 1 point. In Game B, three balls will be on the game and every catch will give you 10 points.
The speed of the balls will increase as you play the game. When you get 100 points, the speed will return to the starting point and start to increase gradually again.
You don`t have 3 chances like other games. When you miss a ball, the game is over.
The maximum points possible on Ball Game&Watch by Nintendo is 9,999 on Game A, and 9,990 on Game B.
